Yasu-Kun - One Day Artwork with Mouse Only

Two versions using Flipnote Studio as the base then Photoshop for the other result.

On deviantART, I shared this drawing of myself as an anime character in colour. It almost took 2 days without a scanner, drawing tablet or computer mouse to finish the work — just the mouse pad on my laptop with the help of importing the pixel sketch I drew on Flipnote Studio!

Unfortunately, I was aware my character design resembles Zexion from Kingdom Hearts, but with dark blue hair, and it wasn't my intention as Yasu-Kun's jacket is similar to the Organization XIII's coat, despite the jacket being based on my actual waterproof hooded jacket with earphones as drawstrings.

I've edited and reposted the final version before uploading it on deviantART again due to struggling to fix the resolution and pixels, noticing some tiny green parts from Yasu-Kun's hair. Regardless, I'm still proud of my first drawing I posted on deviantART as I'm not an artist. I happen to like working on small drawings, even if it's resulting in bad quality as a beginner.

I exported my pixel sketch drawing from my Nintendo DSi XL to Photoshop without changing the canvas size, which was a big mistake on my end for not realising how small the actual size was. The first version is much simpler, using the gradient, colours and adding a background. Half of it was drawn on Flipnote Studio before editing a little bit on Photoshop to make it more colourful instead.

The other version is reusing the first drawing as the base and reference while creating Yasu-Kun by scratch with the brushes, colour dodge and burn tools. The only think I didn't like was how I rendered his face and skin.

Future Yasu-Kun's Notes...

The reason why I drew both of them is for my deviantART profile image, but now I'm not using it because it's really old. I also notice the flaws like the skin and face to try making it semi-realism.

The first version of the drawing wasn't shared on deviantART until a year later.
