For a college assignment on understanding the colour wheel
I took a photo on my mobile during class and the macaroons came out great — except for the yellow-green one. They also look pretty good on the black table bench!
Unfortunately, my teacher wanted students to make anything to demonstrate our knowledge of using the 12 colours from the colour wheel as long as it's "3D", meaning I can't draw and present something in 2D. So, I made these macaroons with soft air-dried coloured clay while mixing the colours together with a bit of water to smooth the macaroon shells. I also used a toothpick for the edges of the macaroons and the white cream.
The macaroons were easy to make once I got used to the clay, so I was able to finish it all during my lost hours of sleep. I rushed because of the deadline, which is why some of them might not look perfectly made, especially the yellow-green macaroon.
Lastly, the photo quality is also poor because I was able to have a chance to take this photo in class. During the presentation, I noticed many struggled to find or create their own colour wheel because it was difficult to find the right 12 colours. I'm glad I went with making the macaroons as they're easier to blend the colours I needed. Also, my classmates want to eat them, even though it's not edible!
