I've always wanted a good happy ending for them.
By the way, I would like to mention the bright blue skies and fresh green grass is also a reference to me, Yasu-Kun myself. The name "Yasu" I often write means something similar to the "land or country of fields". Most of my original series (and this is the first for my fan-creation series) always referencing to a place just like that.
Usually, there would be a treehouse or just a tree on top of a hill, somewhere in the middle of the grassland. That location is often portrayed as my ideal freedom, the limbo or a place in-between heaven and hell. I had characters from my other series where some of them live there but they're never found after. In actuality, it's up to anybody's interpretation of all the characters from different creations and series are in the same field or not. There's one with a treehouse and another similar but has a cliff with a grave and other varieties.
For Sci and Edge, their outside is covered up with greenery after the world grows ahead than the space and time. I even requested art commissions to draw and use this drawing as an inspiration but with a tree on top of a hill. Either way, the two rebuild their world from scratch and basically live happily after.
Honestly, I was proud of this drawing to leave it in monochrome but I was amazed how bright and colourful it is when I tried to colour it. I struggled so much with the colouring and filter tones because it's very difficult to create an outside day setting.
Backgrounds aren't my strength when making them by scratch but I was able to do it by keeping it simple. For the character's position, I've always imagined them doing that with their strong bond after the events from the killing game.
Overall, I'm glad I coloured it, despite it took me 3 days (3 hours when I recorded it for the speedpaint). I intend to draw this after the Blessed Messiah and the Tower of AI AU drawing set but I got distracted and inspired with my previous post (Jekyll and Hyde) ever since I discovered the lore behind the story.
