My version of Sci shares the same birthday with my persona (Yasu-Kun)
Blessed Messiah and the Tower of AI AU - Part 6In the music video, Gumi the poet was holding a book when she shared her powerful words of judgement. I would think about Sci when it comes with books and knowledge but I have better reasons for giving the role to Outer instead.
Outertale is often portrayed as "pretty" with the space-aesthetic outside but it's different for Outer’s experiences with his monster kind wishes to return to Earth with humanity (while the other AUs has an interest for space instead). In UnderDespair, Outer has the most wisdom than Sci when it comes with astronomy as the Ultimate Astronomer.
In my illustration, I didn't add a book for Outer to carry. His knowledge has been kept in his memory, unlike Sci who sometimes takes notes. The "poet" part of Outer is more from Dance (or Death) who introduced him to poetry, music and songwriting to bring his creativity out.
Among the group, Outer is the resource and navigator to their travel. His star reading and organised quirk helped everything going smoothly. His relationship with Sci remains professional with high respect for him as his mentor in Science. He spends the most time with Dance and fallen under his influence.
The sixth blessing is the "Ambient Thunder" with the elemental power of lightning, resulting Outer's death struck by lightning.
During the progress of making Outer, the lineart was fine without the difficulty of adding roundness to his jacket along with colouring. When it comes with merging him with the background's atmosphere, it was difficult. I messed around and played with the settings and tried to change the blues of his hoodie with the yellow filter.
The main flaw in the finishing result is Outer's hand to his chest because I used the reference from the original scene of the music video as guidance. The good this is that I didn't heavily reference the source material since Gumi's body has a feminine shape and opposite to Outer's body.
Overall, most of my time spent on this illustration was exploring different options and adding special effects of electricity sparks around the chamber room.
