Blessed Messiah and the Tower of AI AU - Part 10I found out the Vocaloid song called "Blessed Messiah and the Tower of AI" on YouTube and I fall for the idea of the story and make my spin-off version using skeletal characters. I choose Sci as the "Messiah" because I'm going heavily with my UnderDespair references and reuse him as the main protagonist, usually for scifell related contents.
As you continue to read below the line, I already wrote the list and my story interpretation beforehand in chronological order. It would be confusing as you read this as I publish my post with the finished illustrations in the descending order. Originally, I was going to make a scifell fiction inspired by the song but I would like other people to enjoy this crossover in their own way, despite the ship isn't heavily focused as it should be.
There's a lot of reasons why I choose Sci as the Messiah. If Classic as the original "Sans" is the Messiah, it wouldn't make any sense for G in the first trial. Also, many people believe Sci is a younger version of him despite he could be in a completely different timeline, descended and no longer a part of the Undertale universe. Regardless, if Sci wasn't born, all the other skeletons inspired by Sans wouldn't exist either.
Relating to the colour green as kindness in his soul trait, Sci would be more forgiving and understanding why his friends "betrayed" him for "stealing" the blessings. They all tried to prevent Sci from the tower's trap were 9 sorrows in disguised. If he learned the truth earlier, he would luckily refuse to sacrifice them over the world or himself.
Because of what's already done, Sci understands G's last words and shared the pain of everybody who made it this far. After completing the ritual, he was obtained godly powers for making it through the end. The chosen Messiah was supposed to take each trial on their own but it was G's method to "face all our pain as one" as everyone except Sci takes a blessing each since the chambers were rigged and impossible to survive. Sci made it far with everybody due to their bond and journey.
In my spin-off take for this crossover, I decided to add Death (Reaper) as the "God" from the beginning of the story as he passed his powers to Sci for completing the ritual. All of the powers relating to the trials only brings death. An additional plot twist would be Death was the previous Messiah from a few thousand years ago, except he took all the 9 curses alone and controlled all the element of disasters. It's been a long time for somebody, or a group was able to pass the tower's challenge as other participants didn't make it far or worthy as Sci's.
Before, everything was in peace until humankind tried to win over Death for his powers. One day, he couldn't control his own emotions and explodes destruction as the start of extinction. The world suffers for many generations from the high death rate until the present day, where Sci and his friends travel all the way to the Tower of AI to ask for forgiveness on behalf of everyone alive.
In the end, Sci gains the godly powers for completing the challenge with great loss. When he uses his power, he also feels the sorrows of his sacrificed friends to their according element. With great power comes with great responsibilities as the world belongs to Sci's control. The saviour and lone survivor ended with a mystery fate, leaving it up to anybody's interpretation of what happens after he uses it.
I wasted time sketching everybody first before I start working on Sci. I choose Sci first because he has the easiest part in lineart and colours. The colours I used were colour picked from the original reference I'm basing.
What I like is the great colour palette for Sci, along with the special effects afterwards. I discovered and used special brushes that came from the program set. The weakest part I like in this has to be the background as I'm not confident in them when making it by scratch.
I did have a hard time with the tears and Sci's glasses over him in a new layer. I love the finished drawing in the end and prepared to do the rest of the characters.
