I've seen characters or people online wearing those crying glasses.I haven't drawn for a while so I thought about drawing today's theme on Pixiv (from the creative ideas section), which is "Glasses". I don't know the English title for those glasses with a teardrop frame but I know they're called "泣いちゃうメガネ" in Japanese.
This is also a practice drawing of Sci and trying out a new shading technique by using strokes from the inner layer. I often see people use that way in monochrome and grey styles for their sketch shading. I might consider using this method in my doodles and drafts too because it gives out a slight pop-up feel.
You may not see any significance behind this illustration mainly because the glasses is just for a fun design (or possible fashion). The overall look makes Sci curious or nervous wearing them. It may seem positive from the outside but you'll never know from the inside, not even the "ability" to see from the naked eye.
Personally, I want to cry about my own struggles but I couldn't, no matter how hard I tried to force my eyes to tear up. There are times I do but since I don't have a lot of personal attachment, it's not easy for me to cry about it as I grow strong from being a "crybaby". I can be reserved because I don't want to put my emotions over everything in order to act mature around my age.
I thought it would be interesting to wear one just to show you that I want to cry but I wouldn't buy a pair just for fun. Drawing Sci with those glasses was my original idea and is meant to be kept as future drawings until today, my personal touch this to finish it.
