Assistant and Boss [3126]

Another new AU idea in mind while giving the Persona 5 vibes~

Nobody ever thought about Sci doing anything cool, which is why I love drawing Sci and Edge looking cool in my art style. This AU is more like a "mafia/yakuza" or an "assassin" type of story following Sci getting hired by Edge to become his secret bodyguard.

I know, I always giving Edge the "criminal" background but I can't help it since he has the look! Aside from that, the concept of the AU starts with the protagonist (Edge) was done given orders from his own brother and decided to leave so he could create his own gang. When seeking members, nobody wanted to join in with a filthy killer. He was also told he wouldn't compete what his brother already got.

One day, Edge encounters the mysterious figure (Sci) who was rumoured famous across the town. Edge pled Sci to stay by his side, explaining the situation with his brother. Sci didn't want to take part in it and vanish out of sight.

A few days later, Sci disguised as a doctor bumps into Edge again. He hides his secret by lying to Edge, assuming it's just a coincidence he looks like the same runaway hitman Edge remembered. Sci is later busted once he used self-defence against Edge when he tried to reach inside Sci's coat, exposing the same gun the hitman used before.

Because of Sci's true identity is revealed, he hesitated to kill Edge when he offers to be his partner in crime again. Sci isn't convinced since he explained about his family issues but Edge desperately begs to be his first and only member. The "only" part got Sci interested because every gang he met only cares about their image, the size of their group and murder.

Sci agrees under certain conditions, mainly keeping his secret and Edge promise to keep his words that he wouldn't search for new members, just the two of them as business partners. Edge fantasies defeating everybody just the two of them while Sci finds that impossible and warns Edge not to call him under irrelevant missions together.

How Sci became an assassin wasn't told until he warms up to Edge as they spend time often together. Sci wanted revenge after the death of his family and often alone. Sci met a few people in his past adventures and his feelings for some got themselves killed, making himself more distant. Sci already found who's responsible for his lost and everything was history. He only continues his job as a bounty hunter in order to survive while trying to study medicine.

When Edge's brother was killed, he struggles to whatever he should take over the group or stay with Sci as a dual. Sci understood the situation and let Edge decide what's best for him. Edge makes a temporary alliance everybody to make retribution for everyone's loss of their boss. Once they found the person responsible, Edge stopped everyone, knowing everything wasn't need to solve by violence.

"An eye for an eye, the world goes blind." Edge reference the quote from his own eye with one only lighten up in red. The group was disbanded and the alliance was finished. Afterwards, Sci smirks with hope how good Edge become as a new leader and left quietly ahead.

Finally, Edge luckily catches up to Sci after he noticed his disappearance. Sci was expecting one last farewell but Edge ran to get Sci back, revealing the truth that he finally made up his mind to stay. Sci didn't believe Edge sacrificed his dream life just for him, seeing all the members went on their own way. Edge learned a lot that kind of life he had wasn't right for him in the end, having blood in their hands. He also learned a lot about Sci and wants him to be a part of his world, begging one last time.

Sci realises it's a confession and accepts Edge, being together with him again. Sci became an actual doctor and Edge took some casual jobs off his actual work. When a customer enters his office, Edge happily agrees to take their offer with Sci joining in as professional bounty hunters.

Oops, I end up explaining the whole story in a short version. I don't intend to create a fanfiction of it but I hope anybody who's reading all of this like it!

I'm like a day late (in my timezone) to draw scifell daily this month but here it is, better than nothing! Drawing Edge took me longer because of his sitting position. For Sci, I was indecisive whatever he should hold a gun or injection needles but I finally got Sci with a gun for the first time in an illustration.

The colouring is borrowed from Persona 5 colour schemes and I remembered an older drawing of the two were drawn in a crossover of it too, making me want to use the reds with monochrome again. I also put a tiny bit green for Sci because he looks a little bit empty without any red.

I'm shocked this took me over 5 hours straight, I started around 10-11PM on December 2nd. Regardless, this is my 2nd scifell drawing for this December and hopefully draw another one quickly for the 3rd (today)!
