Illousteri - Scifell [Collab]

Lately, I lost motivation to draw because after discovering my old drafts and files of my UnderDespair AU, I end up spending time writing the prologue again, fixing and polishing it better than before. I even start drawing out the layout map and sketch all the characters as sprites just like the game base of its crossover.

About 3 days ago, I got contact with Illousteri and sent me their lineart version. I didn't work on this until tonight (24th December) and finish this for 5 hours straight. I was sceptical to finish this in my cell shading at first because it's the quickest and easier colouring method but I was in no rush and draw in my old digital painting style.

I haven't work on a thin and coloured lineart but it's really fun drawing the rest in my style with my collab partner into an interesting combination.

In the speedpaint, I have difficulty uploading the video because there's an unfortunate problem opening the first half of the recording. Also, there's a part of the video missing because I forgot to record the progress of making the final red door to the class trials.

I can't say much about Illousteri's lineart other than having no problem working with their realistic skeleton anatomy of Sci and Edge.

As for my part, the background is my flaw, despite I use reference from the original game. However, I still like the simplicity with a complex-looking background since the characters are the main focus.

It wasn't easy to begin painting until working on Sci's lab coat first since he has smaller parts I could start working on first. It took me a while for me to get lost in time because I end up focus and absorbed to finish this tonight.

The furs on Edge's jacket was another problem but after finishing his fur cuff, I fall in love with the realistic look and hope to re-use this fur style in the future. After that, this collab is so much fun to work on with the add extra details and lighting.

Lastly, I want to mention this collab won't be posted outside this blog until Illousteri finished their's so we can upload our parts at the same time on Instagram.
