Rowanberry - Art Trade

Art trade for rhaego-the-plush @ Tumblr.

Rowanberry is a cherryberry ship child who also belongs to rhaego-the-plush. I don't know anything about him other than provided descriptions of his personality as a tough yet chill character, giving him this pose with his arms and legs looking proud.

This is my first time drawing a mouth with flat teeth and a sharp tooth too. Also, I'm never a big fan of spike collars around the neck but it's a nice change drawing their character out of my comfort zone. Usually, I'm picky whenever it comes with character designs but I do find a liking working with the icy-blue colours added while using a purple tone because red and blue together is difficult to use in colour combinations.

During the progress, I got to chat with my partner as we work on our part of the trade. It was interesting because they're showing me screenshots on the drawing, which brings motivation to draw together. We also share feedback and they helped me a lot to correct any mistakes like clients to each other during commissions.

Even though it was challenging to draw with this set of colours, the shading and colouring is fun to do after I finished the lineart. In the speedpaint, you will notice a change in his mouth and eyes, that's when my partner suggest me to fix them better to their liking.

Adding highlights and textured brushes is surprisingly my flaw of making this because highly saturated blues and reds are tricky to work on. Regardless, I enjoy adding the checkered patterns and the overall look in the end.

Note, only rhaego-the-plush has the authority to use this illustration for personal usage as they like. Also, sadly I won't be uploading this to other social media sites besides Tumblr because I want to mostly post content of my OTP since I don't like people following me only to see certain fandoms or art that I don't post often.
