His last name Jedan means the number 1 in Croatian.
He's one of my earliest and first character I create who I relate the most.
His name 'Gary' came from Club Penguin 'Gary the Gadget Guy'.
His species design wasn't original for a dormouse with his pointy cat-like ears and easily mistaken as a grey wolf or other grey canine/feline species. His design became iconic to me that I can't imagine seeing him with rounder ears and intentionally a mystery to make people keep guessing.
His scarf is a reference to my own blue fuzzy scarf (but darker) and it's a souvenir from my family holiday trip from China with my mum and sister.
He always and barely made in time in school (relating to me always running late to school due to depression and difficulty in getting up) and his speed also kinda referencing to Sonic the Hedgehog but Gary is good in running only because he's still fit before growing worse.
I also want to change his name to 'Garry' with an extra R but I didn't because he's not a scientist. I did want him as a science type of guy (possibly his real dream if he had one) and name him after 'Galileo' but it seems inappropriate, making my sister uncomfortable from my poor choice of names from my earlier years.
He's always often found sleeping in class, even after he just arrived in school and do many things while he's sleeping because he has no interest in having a girlfriend, popularity nor socialising. He lacks interest in anything, including his dream future.
He's intelligent but often slacks off (usually to sleep) because he hardly uses his true strength, which is overwhelming and exhausting (and why he immediately fall asleep in his desk).
Even though Yarr Deux is the first member of his squad, Gary is promoted as the leader of his team.
Gary doesn't have any dream, revealing the plot twist that he's a NEET (unemployed) and why he lives in the treehouse instead of paying rents.
Gary is the only one alive in his world after everybody disappears into the darkness along with their dreams. He's alive only because has no dream yet he doesn't despair or try to end his life into the shadows.
Gary's weapon is a spear, referring to his first name meaning.
Gary's power is bubbles and kept as a secret until halfway of the series to reveal his ability in a serious fight. He can survive in the water, giving him related to water despite he's more related to the air element (similar with myself, I see myself as both water and air out of the four elements).
His power of bubbles is inspired by one of Robert Haydn's powers from Law of Ueki and can be used dangerously in many uses like carry somebody inside a giant bubble into space or a very high atmosphere then drop opponents into falling a great height.
His power is also a symbolise to his own bubble, sheltered and isolated. However, it's also the same for having a few friends as a bubble and group them together into a larger bubble but he doesn't like many people and may burst his bubble.
It's up to anybody's speculation with the reincarnation theory of Gary live a new life as Yasu-Kun in the future ARCs and original series since he's basically my fursona or something.
For a special ending, Nightmare-Kat greets Gary and congrats him as the only survivor in his world, meaning he can grand one wish. What happens is up to you and possibly wished for a new life and born as a human boy, Yasu-Kun.
For AU skeletons, he would be like Classic and Outer (and also Swap too).
