This comic is brought to you by the letter S..!Originally, this was going to be a comic series named "The Yasu And Glitch Show" and it's based on my voice chats with Glitch throughout the years. Basically, it's two guys in some kind of reality or podcast show!
However, some of the themes we talked about aren't safe to draw or make it into a comic like joking around about us preferring metal over pop music if anybody dares to sing a love song dedicated to us. The suggestive part is the song mentioning gory lyrics to our dark humour. Of course, I'll always use our conversation into inspiration and even turn it into an idea for more scifell content in some form.
There's so much more I want to share like inventing words like "Scifell Syndrome" for a silly reason why I'm still into Sci and Edge. Sadly, I decided out of everything we said, we rather keep most of it private and keep to ourselves as inner jokes except for this comic which I really want to share publicly!
It all started over 2 years ago when Glitch talks about nicknames, wanting to give Edge a nickname by adding "-Kun" at the end of his name as a joke and tried to pronounce it in Japanese. Eventually, I mentioned Sci because I doubt anybody thought about one for him (besides "Nerd") since his name is already shortened.
Once Glitch makes some hissing noises of a snake or cat by the letter S, we laughed a lot until I recalled my dad makes the same sound as I explained in the comic why. The main reason is like a secret code between my family since we can't whistle whenever we grab each other's attention in public by making random "Shh" or "Su" sounds.
And then, you have me, randomly talking about biology facts that animals make certain sounds or actions to attract others, usually as mating calls. In the end, we laugh again about attracting people on the streets from making "Sss" noises and immediately thought about Edge doing the same only to call for Sci to end up annihilated by random fans from our reality because he's one of many popular skeletons than Sci.
I started on this comic at the beginning of December and I never got back to finish it since I was working on a digital painting earlier. Eventually, I finally continue working on it at Christmas after the previous illustration. Despite my health, I struggle a lot in time management as my progress in drawing is still slow but I was very determined to finish this by the end of 2020.
If I had more time, I would fix a lot of things and add a very simple yet complex-looking background from the basic solid blue to a shopping centre at the end. Intentionally, both Sci and Edge temporary exists in-between our reality because I'm taking the risk to add my persona and other people's original characters into the mix for the sake of this comic.
Overall, I still like this comic because I had fun making poses as references and drawing non-skeleton characters again. Although I find it difficult to use my hands as references in some parts, I'm proud of the finished look that I completed everything. I hope you enjoy this comic and hopefully spreading the power of "Sss"..!
