Sci was based and inspired by Science Sans, an alternate younger version of Sans (Classic) with a scientific background.

As Science Sans, he's not limited to becoming a scientist where he follows the timeline of Undertale, where he evolves as Classic.

Appearance [WIP]

Sci always wears his rectangular frame glasses and a slight oversized white detective-laboratory coat over his teal turtleneck sweater. He also wears dark blue bootcut jeans, white socks and black loafers.

His front pocket holds two different pens — a green pen containing red ink and the other red with black ink. Sci swapped out the cartridges because people often borrow his pens out of annoyance.

Sci's emblem is on his coat's collar (my signature) referencing to me (Yasu-Kun/katsuroyasu), the creator of this version of "Science Sans". His second emblem is invisible on Sci's glasses, one of a kind, having a symbol XXXIXXIV hidden at the temple.

Sci's facial difference is his round-square eye sockets and round oval pupils, but his alter has sly-oval eye sockets. Similar to Blue, Sci can change his white eyes into two coloured eyes. His eyes turn green, representing kindness.

Lastly, Sci's (favourite) undergarment is a navy-blue trunk with dark thin vertical stripes.

Personality [WIP]

Sci is a reserved and quite an intelligent skeleton. He can be seen as logical, calm and serious. Deep down, Sci can show his true colours from acting formal and polite to being sarcastic and witty when he builds confidence in himself.

As a sheltered young prodigy, Sci hates being treated as a kid by others since he's often neglated and used to work alone, feeling uncomfortable by others offering him help when it's not necessary for his needs. He also an introvert who need to take frequent breaks away from everyone and prefers to spend quality time alone. Sci is also self-critical and a perfectionist, which leads him to overthink and stress a lot on a daily basis due to his anxious curiosity and the desire to feed himself with answers that currently bothers him.

Sci is a shut-in who lacks social skills and has a difficulty to deal with (highly) emotional problems. He also tends to diagnose anything he struggles to understand, such slang and jokes. However, he can come out as reliable by giving advice, finding solutions and fixing the issue from listening to others from an open perspective. He can be shown fixated in many different versions of Sans-es due to his interest in multiple universes and the possibility of time travel, but his obsession is temporary after learning one's homeworld as he's only generally interested in their AUs instead of their personal lives.

Creation and Development

Alias and Nicknames [WIP]

Everybody calls him Sci in general. Fell called Sci a kid for being an inch shorter than him but later change his nickname as a nerd due to a bet winning against Dance's nickname for Sci, dork.

Sci rarely refers to himself as the Minister of War when roleplaying with Blue. He also receives different nicknames relating to his talent like Scientist by Cross, Doctor by Death, and Detective by Error.

However, Sci feels uncomfortable with many other nicknames like Sensei by Outer, Kid by G in pronunciation), Shorty by Swap, a Marshmallow by Horror, Sinner by Fresh, and Maid or Servant by Lust as a joke.

Classic calls Sci as a Younger Me or Science Me but it was later false because Sci came from a timeline or world where he doesn't follow the Undertale timeline or becoming (Classic) Sans in the future.

Lastly, Nightmare kept mentioning Sci as the Protagonist, breaking the forth-wall as the main character of UnderDespair.

Talent and Abilities [WIP]

Unlike everybody, Sci doesn't process powers like all the other Sans-es and never relies on his magic. Besides a strong will to live and his green eyes of kindness, Sci devoted his skills from hard work and studies instead.

Sci has professional knowledge in all areas in Science but he focuses on forensic due to his title as the Ultimate Forensic Scientist. Sci solves many crimes from his endless thinking of different possibilities, theories, outcomes and scenarios. He's also used to seeing dead bodies of humans and pessimistically sees crime scenes as a mystery puzzle game. However, the killing game doesn't apply the same because investigating a dead skeleton has a slight disadvantage to his abilities.

During the class trial, even if he already knows the culprit, Sci always presents the facts (in his truth bullets), correcting everybody and try to lead them to the right conclusion. However, Sci has trouble to tell certain facts due to keeping his inventions a secret.

Special Spectacle

Sci doesn't have poor eyesight but he always wears his glasses at all times because his talent can't work alone without a secret function hidden inside his eyewear. Sci can access his spyware through a retinal scan to unlock special abilities to view the crime scene better and inspect evidence with brief descriptions.

If others try to wear it or take it off from Sci, it's just an ordinary pair of glasses. It's also one of a kind and helps Sci investigate in ease.

Time-Travel Watch

Sci has wristwatch with a special function as a time-travelling device. However, it can only travel him a few minutes back, creating a time loop and repeatedly hearing everybody's conversation during the class trials.

If Sci tempered too many timelines by making too many mistakes or waste too much time, he will lose his sanity, making everybody believing he's the culprit or mastermind.

Sci's Journal

Sci has a brown covered journal to write down his days because he believes in his time anomaly researches that there will be a time he may forget, live or travel in a different time period. Despite his messy handwriting, his journal serves as evidence to his missing days and memories. However, Sci lost his journal since the killing game starts.
